🐦 Exciting Learning in Action at DeWitt Elementary! 🐟
Science Specialist Monica Sims recently observed inspiring lessons on birds and fish at DeWitt Elementary as part of the AR Outdoor Education Pilot Program!
DES 2nd graders had an unforgettable experience at the Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge, where they:
✨ Took a guided birding walk
✨ Explored beak adaptations through hands-on activities
✨ Toured the visitor center
A huge thank you to DES PE teacher Lindsay Beaton for organizing these incredible culminating events that bring learning to life! DeWitt Elementary has worked towards the prestigious AGFC School of Conservation Leadership designation and this is exactly the kind of real-world, outdoor learning that makes it happen.

Based on John Wink’s book A Teacher’s Guide to Excellence in Every Classroom, this two-day DESE-approved coaching training will equip participants with mentoring and leadership strategies that help all teachers grow in both knowledge and competence within the Hierarchy of Instructional Excellence.
