📚 BUILD: An Early Reading Intervention
Today, teachers explored BUILD, a small-group program designed to support K–1 students struggling with reading. Using a direct, systematic, cumulative, and multisensory approach, BUILD addresses five key components of reading and gives students the tools they need to succeed early.
Hands-on learning, practical strategies, and student-focused instruction make this intervention a powerful resource for young readers! 💙

♟️ Chess Tournament Success! ♟️
The Co-op hosted an exciting chess tournament on April 2nd for 5th and 6th grade GT students from across the area—and what a great day it was! We had over 60 students competing, each playing 7 games to determine our top players.
🏆 Congratulations to our winners:
• 1st Place: Luke England (DeWitt) – undefeated!
• 2nd Place: Eva Bapst (Monticello) – 6 wins
• 3rd Place: Townsend Cotten (DeWitt) – 5 wins and a tie
We are so proud of all the students who participated and showed incredible focus, strategy, and sportsmanship throughout the day!
A huge thank you to Hope Hartness and Brandi Eubanks with Hope and Company Realty for sponsoring our winners with gift cards to Sonic Drive-In!

Our Regional PAC Migrant Meeting was a beautiful night dedicated to honoring our families and celebrating the incredible strength of our students—especially our seniors who have overcome so many obstacles to reach this milestone.
We make this night all about giving back. From infants to adults, everyone is included. Families enjoyed food, door prizes, and activities designed to support learning at home in both English and Spanish.
One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing our seniors with certificates and cords. In previous years, districts have proudly allowed students to wear these cords at graduation as a symbol of their hard work and accomplishments.
We also shared important information about graduation requirements, the value of daily attendance, and when grades and credits begin to count. Every core subject matters, and we want our families to feel confident supporting their children every step of the way.
This year, we were grateful to welcome an attorney who answered questions about school, student rights, and new laws that may affect our families.
Most of all, we wanted our families to feel appreciated, supported, and celebrated. Thank you to our parents, students, districts, superintendents, and all staff involved with Title I, Part C – Education of Migratory Children. Your partnership means everything, and we are honored to walk alongside you.
